The American Sportfishing Association’s ICAST Consumer Show is Coming to Orlando, July 15-18, 2014
Sport fishing enthusiasts, product vendors and educators converge in Orlando for ICAST (International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades) 2014, the ASA’s signature event
Orlando and the Central Florida Area are known for the avid fan base of sports fishing professionals and aficionados, largely thanks to the hundreds of lakes in the area and our close vicinity to the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The ICAST American Sportfishing Association’s Consumer Show gathers hundreds of companies and organizations that come together to share information, showcase new fishing gear and products, and create awareness about the organization’s efforts in creating a solid sportsfishing community. Sports or recreational fishing involves catching fish for the enjoyment of the effort, skill and challenge of doing so, which often prompts fishermen and woman to return the catch to the water.
ICAST 2014 will feature famed ESPN analyst Lee Corso, who will entertain attendees during the American Sportsfishing Association’s “State of the Industry Breakfast” as its Keynote Speaker. Overall, over 10,000 ASA members are expected to attend over the four day event, which is drawing attendees from all over the U.S. and Canada. ICAST 2014 also features Business Conference Seminars designed to inform, educate and communicate updates about the ASA and the sports fishing industry. One of these seminars will be delivered by representatives of the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation, who will host and moderate a panel of experts representing diverse companies to discuss the importance of the growing Hispanic market in sportsfishing.
ICAST 2014 and the American Sportsfishing Association should feel right at home in Orlando since Central Florida is a major destination for sports fishing. The abundance of largemouth bass, bluegill, gar, catfish, and many more varieties of small-game fish make it a great place for families to enjoy this exciting sport. And if you think it doesn’t get any more exciting than this, Vista Cay Resort by Millenium is just around the corner from the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center where ICAST will be held. You could just about bait your fishing hook, throw the line and hit the building from our own pool deck.
