Planet Hollywood Observatory Now Open
Disney Springs welcomes the re-launch of Planet Hollywood and it’s new dining and entertainment experience
Over two decades ago, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger started the Planet Hollywood theme-restaurant concept, which went head-to-head against Hard Rock Café. Over the years, the concept spread around the world and thrived with people coming in to dine and see memorabilia and mementos from Hollywood’s top actors and actresses. But then, the concept started to dwindle and it was time to revitalize the Planet Hollywood brand—and that time is now. And so, Planet Hollywood Observatory is the next best thing to happen at Disney Springs since this entertainment, dining and shopping complex changed name from Downtown Disney.
Planet Hollywood Observatory is a reworking of the original concept, only that this time there is a four-story structure with a new bar concept—named Stargazers Lounge—and a signature new burger designed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri. The venue will also feature a 4,500-square foot video screen wall, where entertainment will be projected, and an enhanced version of the previous Planet Hollywood menu. The revamped location is quite fitting for the new outlook of Disney Springs, which has remodeled not just the original Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island structures—a remnant from the entertainment complex’s original architecture.
